about

Jakob Grosse Ophoff is a German kinetic sculptor and visual artist whose work combines mechanics, movement and human behavior.

Originally trained as a mechanical engineer, he graduated in 2019 before focusing fully on his artistic practice. His kinetic sculptures explore repetitive gestures, emotional tension and absurdity through motors, cranks and mechanical systems. Human-like movements become poetic, humorous or uncomfortable reflections of everyday behavior.

Alongside his sculptural work, he creates paintings, drawings and limited edition prints.
